GRIPS BENEVOLENT FUND
Members of the U.K. Grips Branch have taken it upon themselves to donate a monthly amount into an account to provide help and support to branch members when necessary.
Here is a brief message regarding the fund from Mr. Plaskitt :-
..."To all of our happy unwashed campers, a brief history of time, WD 40 and the Benevolent Fund.
Time:
A big bang occurred and millions of years later someone invented the NSB.
WD 40:
Something went squeak, and when we had run out of goose fat we thought, hey, a spot of WD will do the trick. (N.B., not to be mistaken for Schedule D 40, and a culinary tip, roast spuds taste better done in goose fat...)
Benevolent Fund:
Tony Rowland got repetitive strain injury as a result of repeatedly proffering the hat when some unfortunate johnny had a snag of some sort, so we thought hey, why don't we all put into the hat via direct debit, that would be so much better. Then we thought we could send wedge to our anyone who had had an accident or horrid illness. And we thought if someone outside of our merry little gang is in a similar
situation, then why not them as well. After all it's our money, and the clue is in the name of the fund, Benevolent, geddit?
So that's it in a nutshell. If you have any questions you can get in touch with me, or if you have any suggestions as to who would benefit from a few quid then let any of the fund committee members know, Ken A-J, Ray Hall, Laurence Edwards or yours truly, Toby Plaskitt. We would also like to send out a couple of hampers come Xmas time, so any suggestions do the aforementioned."...
Toby Plaskitt,
Grips Branch Treasurer.
